SPIN – Supporting Principal INvestigators – Call for proposals 2019
Ca’ foscari University SPIN programme has been designed to help outstanding post-doc researchers from anywhere in the world turn their ideas into successful ERC grant applications under any category (Starting, Consolidator or Advanced).
Through the SPIN funding you will receive support to design your ERC project proposal with Ca’ Foscari as Host Institution, meet the programme’s excellence requirements and strengthen your academic profile.
Ca’ Foscari is the top Host Institution for Marie Curie individual fellowships in Italy and in the top 6 in Europe: we believe this is a fantastic asset for your projects.
How much you can receive:
- 2 years fellowship: €2.400 net per month (€40.000 /year gross)
- Project with no lab costs : max €120.000 (including fellowship)
- Project with purchase of scientific equipment: max €160.000 (including fellowship)
Who can apply?
The ideal applicant is a post-doc researcher in any of the fields represented at Ca’ Foscari University, an international academic institution in the 250 top universities in QS ranking by subject Economics-Econometrics, world top 150 in Arts and Humanities and in Modern Languages with more than 40 languages taught.

Applications will be evaluated in two steps: at step 1 a Committee appointed by the Rector will assess the development potential of the proposals; during the second stage external referees will evaluate selected proposals taking into account the project scientific excellence and the applicant's profile.
The shortlisted researchers will be engaged on a research contract after passing positively an interview focused on the impact and sustainability of the proposal.
